The International Law of the Sea Summer Academy is jointly organized by Kadir Has University, the National University of Singapore Centre for International Law (CIL-NUS), the Ankara University National Research Center for the Law of the Sea (DEHUKAM), and Piri Reis University.

The Academy aims to provide education on the fundamental issues of the law of the sea by bringing together participants with judges from international courts, academics specializing in international law, and legal practitioners. In addition to lectures on core topics, specific sessions of the program are dedicated to a special theme selected for that year, with the goal of increasing awareness and knowledge regarding current issues in the law of the sea. All courses in the program are conducted in English.

The International Law of the Sea Summer Academy is a non-profit program that brings together participants from different nations to address legal issues concerning maritime areas on a global scale. In doing so, it aims to contribute to the human and knowledge resources necessary for the resolution of political and economic challenges.
